Gastronomy
Visitors to most Japanese restaurants in Europe are given the impression that Japanese cuisine is limited to sushi and sashimi. This is not true at all! Fish and seafood do of course form the basis of Japanese cuisine, but with incomparable flavours. In my opinion, anyone who hasn’t yet tried sashimi in a fishing port in Japan has no idea how fish really tastes! Japanese gastronomy also offers a huge range of delicious meat and vegetable dishes that are definitely on a par with their European counterparts. It doesn’t matter whether you simply enjoy food or are a connoisseur – either way you are guaranteed to love Japanese cuisine!
